Gordon Ross

Welcome to the Allegro Music Ensemble Courses!
With these courses we’d like to work with the community in order to promote musical creativity, individuality, and understanding.
Our courses will be run by our Instructor Gord Ross.
Here’s a little bit about him:
Gord is a Doctoral Candidate in Musicology at York University and
has been a professional musician for over thirty years.
He has shared the stage with the Everly Brothers, the Nitty Gritty
Dirt Band, Don Williams, Leon Russell, Kris Kristofferson, and many
other artists. He is a contributing author to the book The
Cambridge Companion to the Guitar and coeditor of the forthcoming
book Grassland Sounds: Popular and Folk Musics of the Canadian
Prairies. Gord has been teaching for 16 years. In addition to
mentoring individual students, he has developed ensemble
programs for novice rock bands as well as courses for adult
students. He continues to perform and record in his home studio,
and he produces the music blog The Bridge.
